Pure Staff are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Day Tramper Driver to join a well-established retail distribution operation in the Rugby area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 1 Day Tramper Driver seeking regular work, flexible start times and the chance to secure permanent employment.
This role offers consistent ongoing shifts, strong earning potential and a supportive transport team that values and respects its drivers.
Pay Rates
Monday to Friday
- £17.06 per hour PAYE
- £19.12 per hour including rolled-up holiday pay
Saturday
- £22.00 per hour PAYE
- £24.66 per hour including rolled-up holiday pay
Sunday / Bank Holidays
- £23.00 per hour PAYE
- £25.78 per hour including rolled-up holiday pay
Rolled-up holiday pay is available as an optional payment method for this vacancy.
About the Role
Working within the retail distribution industry, the successful Class 1 Day Tramper Driver will complete regional store deliveries, ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule while maintaining excellent professional standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Completing between 1 and 3 deliveries per shift
- Delivering goods to retail stores across a designated region
- Unloading cages at delivery locations
- Carrying out handball duties where required
- Using electronic POD devices to record deliveries accurately
- Completing all paperwork and delivery documentation
- Conducting daily vehicle safety inspections
- Ensuring compliance with drivers’ hours and working time regulations
- Providing a professional and reliable service at all delivery points
Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Tuesday to Saturday shifts available
- Additional Saturday shifts available when required
- Typical start times between 02:00 and 14:00
- Shift durations typically between 10 and 12 hours
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) Driving Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Strong understanding of drivers’ hours legislation
- Ability to complete electronic PODs and delivery paperwork accurately
- Comfortable with manual handling and cage deliveries
- Professional and reliable approach to work
