We specialise in providing better working for all of our drivers' individual needs, whether you are available Monday to Friday, just weekends, or odd days. Looking after your work-life balance is our top priority, working with some of the most well-known and respected clients and ensuring the best possible work is available to you.
Pure Staff are currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced HGV C+E Class 1 drivers to join our team of flexible employees to work with this specific client. Our client is a large, well-known haulage company working within the pallet networks and general haulage sectors. They currently require ongoing HGV C+E Class 1 drivers to work with their current team. This job is longer term with temporary to permanent requirements.
The job itself will consist of multiple drops (1-5 deliveries) of palletised products to be delivered or collected, curtain-sided work. Distribution is completed in an articulated lorry with a curtain side body, normally a DAF, MAN, or Merc. Experience in transport is not required but could be advantageous for this role.
Our clients are looking for a candidate that can not only drive HGV C+E Class 1 lorries successfully but also communicate well to ensure that all routes are completed. There is a stop call wait procedure to maximise productivity and keep drivers informed on possible delays or route changes. This can be a customer-facing role, so the perfect candidate will be of smart appearance with a polite nature, showing willingness to give that little extra to ensure our clients' personnel have the best interaction with the driver as possible.
Start times will be between 05:00 and 07:00 for days and 17:00 and 19:00 for nights. Shifts can be long but in keeping with tachograph law, up to 10 to 11 hours per shift normally.
You will require:
- HGV C+E Class 1 Driving licence
- 6 months HGV Class 1 experience is preferred but we can have new passes in some locations
- CPC Card
- Digital card
- Clean Licence preferred with no more than 6 points (no TT, TS, MS, DR, DD codes)
Pay: £16.50 per hour Monday to Friday PAYE, £20 per hour Weekends and Bank Holidays PAYE. Additionally, to the pay, you will accrue holiday pay payable with 7 days' notice of booked holiday. You will also be enrolled after 3 months into a pension.
Pure Staff prides itself on delivering a first-class service and as a direct result, we offer incentives for referral of HGV drivers: Refer a worker and after they have worked for us for 200 hours, you will receive £200 (T&Cs apply).
