Pure Staff are currently recruiting for a Skilled Assembler to join a well‑established manufacturing company based in Birmingham. This is a temp‑to‑perm opportunity for an experienced assembler with a strong background in precision mechanical assembly. The successful candidate will be joining a skilled production team assembling high‑quality automotive components to exacting standards.

Your Role

  • Assembling complex mechanical components to detailed engineering drawings and specifications
  • Building and fitting power steering units, steering racks, brake calipers and pump assemblies
  • Carrying out sub‑assembly and full build assembly processes
  • Using hand tools, torque tools and precision measuring equipment
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure all assemblies meet required tolerances and standards
  • Identifying and reporting faults, defects or component issues
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workstation
  • Working in line with all quality, health & safety and production procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a skilled assembler role
  • Previous experience assembling power steering systems, steering racks, brake calipers and pump assemblies essential
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team
