Responsibilities
- Work with the procurement team to procure salads and develop an effective procurement strategy to deliver against company KPI’s.
- Develop programs based on customer demand and supplier availability.
- Negotiate prices, place orders and manage the product through the end-to-end supply chain.
- Administer purchase orders and sales orders on the Prophet ERP system as required.
- Collaborate with the logistics and planning team to maintain accurate load plans for all products and suppliers.
- Provide weekly pricing and costing models in a timely and accurate manner.
- Produce finalisations and manage supplier claims, processing all associated invoices and credit notes.
- Publish weekly commercial reports summarising commercial performance and availability outlook.
- Continuously challenge processes to optimise product quality and help achieve company targets through a strong understanding of the supply chain.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support innovation, evolve new sources, and facilitate more local and sustainable production where relevant.
- Undertake supplier visits as required to learn and evolve the procurement strategy and strengthen relationships.
- Liaise with customers to illustrate product knowledge and communicate strategy.
- As part of a weekend rota, be available to provide information to the sales, technical and stocks team.
Qualifications
- Previous fresh produce procurement experience essential; knowledge of salads preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Numerical competence and strong commercial acumen.
- Professional attitude with a keen eye for detail.
