An established offsite manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead all workshop and operational activity at its Coventry production facility. This is a senior, hands-on role with full responsibility for pricing, production planning, quality, health & safety, materials, and transport. The successful candidate will take ownership of operational performance while driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across the facility.

The Role

  • Pricing & Planning
    • Accurately price pipe spools and offsite-manufactured products
    • Complete take-offs from drawings and manage material ordering
    • Plan and schedule daily and weekly workloads to meet programme demands
  • Production & Workforce Management
    • Lead and allocate the production workforce to meet delivery targets
    • Oversee all products manufactured within the workshop
    • Run daily briefings and support training and development of the team
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure all products are manufactured to specification, including dimensional checks and testing
    • Maintain QA documentation and sign off products prior to dispatch
  • Health, Safety & Compliance
    • Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safe systems of work
    • Carry out inspections, audits, and ensure actions are closed out
  • Materials, Deliveries & Transport
    • Manage stock levels and material availability
    • Coordinate deliveries, collections, and transport of finished products
  • Workshop Standards & Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workshop environment
    • Lead 5S and housekeeping standards
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and output

  • Hands-on, visible leader with high standards and attention to detail
