We are currently recruiting a Warehouse Operative with Counterbalance FLT and van driving experience on behalf of one of our clients, based in Digbeth, Birmingham. Our client is a well-established company specialising in the distribution of refrigeration equipment and associated goods. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering stable weekday hours with the potential for a permanent role following a successful temporary period.
The Role
This is a hands-on role combining warehouse duties with driving responsibilities. You will be operating a Counterbalance forklift truck within the warehouse and completing deliveries/collections in a long wheelbase van. The role will involve one set day per week travelling to Manchester to deliver and collect goods, with the remaining days based in the warehouse in Digbeth. Some items may be bulky and require safe manual handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a Counterbalance FLT safely and efficiently
- Loading, unloading, and moving refrigeration equipment and stock
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch
- Driving a long wheelbase van (1 day per week) to Manchester for deliveries and collections
- Completing vehicle checks and ensuring safe, responsible driving at all times
- Carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate records
- Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy, and organised
- Following all health & safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Counterbalance FLT experience (essential)
- Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (in-date and accredited)
- Minimum 1 year of van driving experience (essential)
- Experience driving a long wheelbase van (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
- Previous warehouse experience
- Physically fit and comfortable handling bulky refrigeration equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
