Class 1 Driver in Barry

Pure Staff's Driving Team are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to support one of our long-standing customers based in Newport and Barry. Immediate starts are available for reliable HGV Class 1 Drivers looking for flexible, ongoing work with a leading palletised freight distribution operation.

Our customer is one of Europe’s largest palletised freight networks, providing fast, reliable pallet distribution services throughout the UK and Europe. Working with an extensive network of transport partners, they handle millions of pallet movements each year, supporting businesses across a wide range of industries with time-critical logistics solutions.

Drivers will complete trunking runs using modern curtain-side and double-Decker trailers, transporting palletised freight between depots and distribution hubs. Shifts are available Monday to Sunday, with day shifts typically starting at 05:00 and night shifts at 19:30, averaging around 10 hours per shift. Although work is offered on an ad hoc basis, drivers who demonstrate reliability and professionalism are regularly re-booked for future shifts.

To be successful in this HGV Class 1 Driver role in Newport, you will need:

• UK Category C+E Licence
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Valid Driver CPC Card
• Minimum 6 months' HGV Class 1 driving experience (12 months preferred)
• No more than 6 penalty points
• A professional, reliable and safety-conscious attitude
• Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph regulations and vehicle safety checks

Rates for an HGV Class 1 Driver:

• Day shifts are starts between 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs
• Night shifts are starts between 18:00hrs and 06:00hrs
• Monday to Friday (Days) = £17.50ph (+£2.11ph holiday accrued)
• Monday to Friday (Nights) = £18.50ph (+£2.23ph holiday accrued)
• Saturdays, Sundays and Bank holidays (days or nights) = £21.05ph

This is a temporary ongoing vacancy with regular work available. Although permanent opportunities are uncommon, successful drivers are frequently re-booked and become regular members of the client’s driving team.
