The Role

As a HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for completing 5 to 8 deliveries per day to customers across your designated route. This role involves delivering stacks of potatoes, therefore candidates must be comfortable carrying out heavy handball duties. You will be supported by a Driver's Mate, who will assist with deliveries throughout the day, helping to ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently. This is a customer-facing role, requiring a professional attitude and excellent communication skills when representing both Pure Staff and our client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete 5 to 8 deliveries per day within your designated area.
  • Safely and efficiently deliver stacks of potatoes to customers.
  • Carry out heavy handball as part of the delivery process.
  • Work closely with your Driver's Mate to complete deliveries.
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
  • Adhere to all driver hours, working time regulations, and company procedures.

  • Provide excellent customer service while representing Pure Staff and our client professionally.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need

  • A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
  • Newly qualified Class 2 drivers will be considered, provided they have some driving experience.
  • A valid Driver CPC Qualification.
  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
  • No more than 5 penalty points (no DR, IN, or TT endorsements).
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safe driving.
  • The ability to carry out physically demanding work involving heavy handball.

Pay Rates

£18.00 per hour plus £2.17 per hour accrued holiday pay (equivalent to £20.17 per hour including holiday pay).

Holiday Pay

We believe professional HGV Drivers deserve proper paid annual leave. Rather than rolling your holiday pay into every hourly rate, your holiday entitlement builds up as you work and is ready to be paid when you book time off. That means when you take a well-earned break, your holiday pay is there waiting for you. Your holiday pay is accrued separately and paid when you take annual leave, ensuring you're fairly rewarded while encouraging regular time off, which we believe is essential for safety, well being, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Why Drive for Pure Staff?

We employ every driver directly - 100% in-house PAYE with Pure Staff. No umbrella companies. No payroll companies. No third-party providers. Your employment is directly with us.
