Pure Staff are recruiting a Night Warehouse Operative / Relief Van Driver to support one of our longest-standing customers based in Manchester. Our customer is one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers, representing some of the best-known vehicle brands in the industry.

This is primarily a Warehouse Operative position where approximately 95% of your working time will be in the warehouse. However, we're looking for somebody who also holds a full UK driving licence and is comfortable driving a van when occasionally required. Driving cover would typically only be needed for unexpected customer runs, last-minute sickness or other unforeseen driver absence.

Hours & Pay for Warehouse Operative / Relief Van Driver

  • £13.76 per hour (+ holiday pay worth £1.66 per hour)
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday night / Tuesday morning 1am, through to Friday night / finishing at 9am Saturday morning
  • 01:00 start to 09:00 finish
  • 5 shifts per week - consistent and ongoing

Warehouse Duties - Approximately 95% of the Role

Your normal working week will involve:

  • Picking automotive parts to customer orders
  • Using handheld scanners
  • Packing orders ready for dispatch
  • Putting stock away in the warehouse
  • Moving/running parts around the operation
  • Working towards picking and productivity targets once fully trained
  • Moving between different warehouse duties as operational requirements change
  • General warehouse support as required

Occasional Van Driving - Approximately 5% of the Role

You'll also act as a relief Van Driver when genuinely needed. This could include:

  • Covering a Van Driver who calls in sick at short notice
  • Completing an unexpected or urgent customer delivery
  • Providing emergency driving cover where the normal driver isn't available
  • Loading/unloading automotive parts as required

Requirements for Warehouse Operative / Relief Van Driver

To be considered you must:

  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Be confident and competent driving a commercial van
  • Be comfortable completing occasional customer deliveries when required
  • Be physically capable of warehouse and delivery work involving automotive parts
  • Be comfortable working permanent night shifts
  • Have good attendance and timekeeping
  • Be flexible and willing to support different areas of the operation

First Aid training/qualification would be highly desirable, although not essential.
