Our client is looking for a reliable, organised and confident Transport Operations Coordinator to support the Transport Planner and help ensure the day-to-day transport operation runs smoothly. This is a hands-on operational role where you will be dealing directly with drivers and clients, coordinating jobs, answering calls and helping to put the transport plan into action. You don't need to be an experienced Transport Planner. What's important is that you are organised, proactive, confident dealing with people and able to keep on top of a busy operation.

The Role
Working closely with the Transport Planner, you will help oversee the daily transport operation and ensure drivers, clients and jobs are effectively coordinated. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Transport Planner with the implementation of the daily transport plan
- Monitoring company vehicles, including status, usage and availability
- Booking jobs into the scheduling/dispatch system
- Communicating with drivers throughout the day regarding job allocations, schedules and availability
- Keeping in regular contact with drivers to ensure jobs are progressing as planned
- Handling inbound and outbound calls from clients and customers
- Taking job requests, providing updates and dealing with general enquiries
- Acting as a key point of contact between the Transport Planner, drivers and clients
- Helping resolve operational issues and changes as they arise
- Following up with drivers to obtain essential documentation and compliance paperwork
- Ensuring paperwork such as signed contracts and return-to-work forms is completed and returned
- Keeping the Transport Planner updated on any issues affecting the operation
- Supporting general transport and office administration as required
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy, people-focused operational environment and can keep multiple things moving at the same time. You may have previous experience in:

- Fleet
- Transport Administration

- Scheduling / Dispatch
- Customer Service within a transport environment
- Supervisory or coordination roles
You will ideally have:

- Strong telephone and communication skills
- Confidence dealing with drivers, clients and colleagues
- The ability to manage several tasks and priorities simultaneously

- The ability to remain calm and organised when plans change

- The confidence to follow up with drivers and ensure paperwork and processes are completed
