CNC Miller & Turner
to join our well-established client based in
Cheltenham
on a
Temp-to-Perm
basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC engineer to join a busy
subcontract engineering environment , working on a variety of precision components to customer specifications. The successful candidate will have strong CNC machining experience, with
previous subcontract engineering experience being mandatory .
5-axis machining experience is also required , and candidates must be confident setting and operating
5-axis CNC machinery
while working to tight tolerances and production deadlines.
Your Role
As a CNC Miller & Turner, your duties will include: Setting and operating CNC milling and turning machinery.
Setting and operating 5-axis CNC machinery.
Utilising 5-axis machining techniques to produce complex precision components.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Producing precision components to customer requirements.
Selecting and changing tooling as required.
Setting work offsets and tool offsets.
Carrying out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
Measuring components using appropriate inspection equipment.
Working to tight tolerances and maintaining high standards of quality.
Making adjustments to machine settings to maintain component quality.
Identifying and reporting any machine, tooling or quality issues.
Working with a variety of materials and components.
Completing production paperwork and maintaining accurate records.
Working to production targets and customer deadlines.
Carrying out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
Following all company health and safety procedures.
Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working area.
Working effectively as part of a team.
Carrying out other engineering duties as required.
Requirements
Previous subcontract engineering experience is mandatory.
Previous 5-axis CNC machining experience is required.
Experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machinery.
Previous experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Turner or CNC Miller/Turner.
Strong CNC setting and operating experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience working to tight tolerances.
Good understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling.
Competent using measuring and inspection equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work to production targets and deadlines.
Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Positive approach to work.
Experience working within a busy subcontract engineering environment.
Pay & Shifts
£16.00 - £25.00 per hour, depending on experience. 2 vacancies available: Morning Shift:
Monday - Friday,
06:00 - 14:00
Twilight Shift:
Monday - Thursday,
16:00 - 02:00
