A reputable machining company is looking for a CNC Miller to join their long-established team in Redditch. Offered as a permanent contract, with a competitive pay rate based on experience. The CNC Miller will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling horizontal and vertical machines with Fanuc controls. The ideal candidate will hold experience in programming offline using Esprit CAD/CAM software. Previous CNC experience is essential to fulfil the position of CNC Miller. Within this role, you will be offered overtime, free car parking and a company pension.
Duties and responsibilities of CNC Miller:
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines (vertical and horizontal) with Fanuc controls
- Creating and editing programs using Esprit CADCAM or similar software (offline)
- General servicing duties
- Continuously monitor areas of improvement in cycle time, tooling cost, material usage
- Collaborate with the production team to optimise machining processes
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Adhere to company and industry safety standards and procedures
- Produce components within the agreed standard time
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Ensure precision and quality of machined components
- Work to tight tolerances and in-process measurements
- High precision tolerance works as well as volume
- Quality control, working to customer specification
Skills/attributes required by successful candidate for the role of CNC Miller:
- Previous experience of CNC Milling and Fanuc - essential
- Previous experience with Doosan/Haas/Matsuura
- Proficiency in programming, setting, and operating Horizontal CNC milling machines
- A proactive approach and attention to detail
