The Role of a QC:
- Maintain shelf life and condition test documentation when required.
- Calibrate QA equipment in rotation with other QA.
- Inform your Line Manager if any sundries are required.
- Carry out documented in-load checks to the recommended level against customer specifications. Label and date pallets according to the outcome.
- Carry out documented out-load checks to the recommended level against customer specifications. Label pallets according to the outcome.
- Carry out documented stock checks to the recommended level against customer specifications. Label pallets according to the outcome, and inform your Line Manager.
- Travel as necessary to other cold storage sites to in-load, prepare samples or out-load product.
- Packhouse liaison as required.
- Follow up on depot rejections.
- Check labels when required against customer label forms and specs and complete sign off.
- Clean up as you go regarding pallet straps and corner boards removed during inspection.
- Prepare samples to required standard as requested.
- Clean QA room as required.
- Attend training courses as required.
- Inform Tech Director of the outcome of in-load, out-loads and stock checks, or job category changes in packhouse.
- Inform Tech Director of any potential Food Safety or Quality issues, and unknown personnel on site.
- Update prophet with status and dates as required of arrival, stock, checks, status change.
