As Evening Operations Supervisor, you'll be at the heart of the operation, ensuring deliveries are planned efficiently and customer expectations are exceeded every day.
Key Responsibilities:- Reporting directly to the Distribution Manager
- Managing daily distribution planning across three depots
- Allocating work to drivers and subcontractors while ensuring timely departures
- Reacting quickly to vehicle breakdowns and operational changes
- Negotiating competitive rates with subcontractors
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and legal regulations
- Driving KPI performance and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
- Managing operational resources to achieve financial and customer service targets
- Maintaining accurate records and completing administration within deadlines
- Building strong internal and external relationships through effective communication and leadership
- Working 5 days out of 7 with occasional 6th shift when required
- Previous planning experience within logistics or transport
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- A calm and focused approach under pressure
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving abilities
- Experience dealing with conflict and changing priorities
- A customer-first mindset
- Confidence building relationships with subcontractors and partners
- Good PC and WMS systems knowledge
