Pure Staff are recruiting an experienced Logistics Team Leader to support a growing drinks distribution operation in Bristol. This is a temporary position working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, paying £14.53 per hour plus holiday pay (worth an additional £1.75 per hour). The role combines team leadership, transport planning and warehouse operations.
You'll work closely with the Operations Manager to coordinate drivers, warehouse activity, supplier collections and multi-drop deliveries across Bristol and the wider Southwest. This is very much a hands-on Team Leader position. We're looking for somebody comfortable leading people and organising a busy operation, but equally willing to get involved themselves when things don't go to plan.

- Monday to Friday = £14.53ph + holiday pay accrued (worth £1.75 per hour)
- 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday
- Occasional requirements to flex hours slightly in accordance with business needs
- Temporary to Permanent after trial period (£34,000 salaried position based upon a 45 hour working week once perm)
- Once perm - 29 days holiday, company pension, professional career progression opportunities with a growing business
Your Role as a Logistics Team Leader
Working alongside the Operations Manager, your duties will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the Bristol distribution depot
- Supervising, organising and supporting warehouse and delivery teams
- Planning supplier collections and customer multi-drop deliveries across the Southwest
- Routing vehicles using the company's in-house Control Tower
- Coordinating inbound pallet deliveries and inter-depot transfers
- Overseeing the accurate receipt, cross-docking and loading of stock
- Coordinating the collection and return of empty kegs and casks
- Supporting the induction and training of new drivers and team members
- Ensuring vehicle, warehouse and delivery operations meet health & safety requirements
- Maintaining high standards of customer service
- Resolving day-to-day operational problems and escalating issues where required
- Carrying out driving, loading and unloading duties when required
The depot handles the collection, cross-docking and delivery of beer, wine and spirits, so this is a busy physical distribution environment rather than a purely office-based transport planning position.
What We're Looking For
To be considered for this Logistics Team Leader position, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar within logistics, transport, distribution, warehousing or FMCG
- Strong planning, organisation and time-management skills
- Confidence supervising and supporting warehouse and/or driving teams
- Good communication and people-management skills
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
- Good IT literacy and attention to detail
- A good understanding of health & safety
- A professional and customer-focused approach
- A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
Previous experience within multi-drop or dray delivery, transport planning, route optimisation, cross-docking, pallet networks or supervising drivers and warehouse teams would be advantageous. Drinks industry experience isn't essential - we're more interested in finding somebody who can confidently lead a team, organise a busy logistics operation and provide a reliable service.
