Pure Staff's Driving Team are recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers in Avonmouth, Bristol for weekend work with one of the UK's largest and longest-established logistics businesses, completing trunking and retail store deliveries for a major national retail customer. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Class 1 Drivers looking specifically for Saturday and/or Sunday work, or drivers who already work elsewhere during the week and are looking to pick up an additional weekend shift where this fits safely and legally within their Drivers' Hours and Working Time limits.

The operation offers excellent flexibility across weekend mornings, with start times available from approximately 04:00 through to 10:00. We can accommodate most morning start-time preferences and will work with drivers around their availability wherever possible. You do not have to commit to both Saturday and Sunday. Whether you're available every weekend, Saturdays only, Sundays only or simply looking for additional weekend shifts around other commitments, speak to our Driving Team about what works for you.

Pay & Hours

  • Saturdays = £23.53 per hour with holiday pay rolled up (or £21.00 per hour if you choose to accrue your holiday pay)
  • Sundays = £24.66 per hour with holiday pay rolled up (or £22.00 per hour if you choose to accrue your holiday pay)

Your Typical Working Day

You’ll be completing a mixture of HGV Class 1 trunking and retail store deliveries from the customer's Avonmouth operation. Typical duties include:

  • Morning starts between 04:00 and 10:00
  • Shifts averaging approximately 10 hours
  • HGV Class 1 trunking
  • Retail store deliveries
  • No handball
  • Strapping and securing loads
  • Completing thorough vehicle and load checks
  • Ensuring trailers and loads are correctly contained before leaving site
  • Completing delivery paperwork accurately
  • Following Drivers' Hours, Working Time and site procedures

Drivers must correctly strap and contain their loads and complete all necessary checks before moving away from the loading bay or taking a trailer.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this HGV Class 1 Driver position you'll need:

  • A valid UK Category C+E / Class 1 Licence
  • A valid Driver CPC / DQC
  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
  • No more than 6 penalty points on your licence
  • Confidence with strapping and securing loads
  • Good understanding of load security
  • Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulations
  • A professional, reliable and safety-conscious attitude
  • Previous retail store delivery, trunking or general distribution experience would be advantageous.
