Our client is a leading specialist transport and logistics business providing heavy haulage, lifting support and equipment transport services to the construction, infrastructure and industrial sectors across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join their professional transport team.
This HGV Class 1 Driver role is based in Newport. Drivers can expect regular trunking, general haulage and barrier movements using a modern fleet of well-maintained vehicles. Shifts are available Monday to Sunday, with average shift lengths of around 10 hours. Day shifts typically start between 05:00hrs and 06:00hrs, while night shifts generally begin at 17:00hrs. To be successful in this HGV Class 1 Driver role in Newport, you will need:
- UK Category C+E Licence.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Valid Driver CPC Card.
- Minimum 6 month's HGV Class 1 driving experience.
- No more than 6 penalty points.
- A professional, reliable and safety-conscious attitude.
- Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph regulations and vehicle safety checks.
Rates for an HGV Class 1 Driver:
- Day shifts are starts between 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs.
- Night shifts are starts between 18:00hrs and 06:00hrs.
- Monday to Friday (Days) = £17.00ph (+£2.05ph holiday accrued).
- Monday to Friday (Nights) = £18.00ph (+£2.17ph holiday accrued).
- Saturdays, Sundays and Bank holidays (days or nights) = £21.00ph.
