Pure Staff's Driving Team are recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers in Avonmouth, Bristol for consistent ongoing work with one of the UK's largest and longest-established logistics businesses, completing trunking and retail store deliveries for a major national retail customer. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Class 1 Drivers looking for a strong weekday rate, afternoon starts and consistent work without the need for handball.
The operation offers plenty of different start times each day between 12:00 noon and 16:00 , making this particularly suitable for drivers who prefer afternoon work rather than early-morning starts. The regular working pattern is Monday to Friday , with occasional Saturday shifts available on an optional basis for drivers who want additional work.

Typical duties include: Afternoon starts between 12:00 and 16:00Shifts averaging approximately 10 hoursHGV Class 1 trunkingRetail store deliveriesNo handballStrapping and securing loadsCompleting thorough vehicle and load checksEnsuring trailers and loads are correctly contained before leaving siteCompleting delivery paperwork accuratelyFollowing Drivers' Hours, Working Time and site proceduresImportant - Load Security. Load security is a critical requirement of this assignment.
Drivers must correctly strap and contain their loads and complete all necessary checks before moving away from the loading bay or taking a trailer . The customer takes load security extremely seriously. Failure to follow the site's required load-security procedures could result in immediate removal from the assignment.

What We're Looking ForTo be considered for this HGV Class 1 Driver position you'll need: A valid UK Category C+E / Class 1 LicenceA valid Driver CPC / DQCA valid Digital Tachograph CardPrevious HGV Class 1 driving experienceNo more than 6 penalty points on your licenceConfidence with strapping and securing loadsGood understanding of load securityGood knowledge of Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulationsA professional, reliable and safety-conscious attitudePrevious retail store delivery, trunking or general distribution experience would be advantageous.
