The Role

This is an exciting new role that combines clinical practice with research using VALD technology. Half of the week would be spent in clinical practice, managing and building your caseload. The other half of the week would be dedicated to the research role; leading on the integration, data collection and research output using VALD technologies, bringing together clinical excellence and performance measures. This would suit an experienced clinician working in private practice or a candidate working at Band 7 level or above. Previous research experience would be advantageous. Your working week would be structured with a mix of clinical and research time, understanding that sometimes this needs to be flexible.

To apply, send your CV and a supporting cover letter to Sam Wilde and Dr Simon Lack with the role listed in the subject line.

  • Capture and evaluate patient experience, including usability, acceptability, and impact of VALD assessments on engagement and rehabilitation.
  • Report monthly on usage, data quality, clinical adoption, outcome trends, and implementation progress.
  • Prepare PSM outcome data for publication, contributing to peer‑reviewed research articles, case series, service evaluations, and non‑peer‑review outputs (blogs, conference posters and presentations).
  • Collaborate with PSM, VALD, and academic partners to co‑develop an exercise prescription platform, ensuring clinical relevance, usability, and evidence‑based content.
  • Support staff training, professional development sessions, and dissemination of research findings across PSM.

£40 – £52k expected annual income in year 1. Annual review with the scope for structured progression. Private medical insurance. £750 CPD budget and 5 days CPD leave. Annual leave and paid sick leave. Pension. Access to cycle scheme. Our clinicians are supported with regular CPD and mentoring to ensure ongoing development.
