Tax Accountant – Temporary Contract – Media group

An established media business is looking to appoint a Tax Accountant on a temporary basis with view of long-term seat. You will support its in-house tax function through a busy period of UK corporation tax compliance.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who can quickly take ownership of a portfolio of entities, work independently and deliver accurate work against demanding deadlines.

The Role

You will join an established tax team and provide additional resource across the group’s UK tax compliance activity.

• Preparing UK corporation tax computations and supporting tax returns across a varied group structure.
• Reviewing financial information and working with Finance colleagues to obtain the data required for compliance.
• Managing a portfolio of entities and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Investigating and resolving queries, escalating more technical matters where appropriate.
• Working with external tax advisers on areas such as interest restriction, capital allowances and R&D.
• Supporting group relief, tax adjustments and other corporation tax compliance matters.
• Maintaining accurate working papers and compliance records.
• Assisting with tax reporting, tagging and submission processes.
• Supporting process improvement and automation initiatives within the tax function.
• Taking on additional compliance work as required.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Strong UK corporation tax compliance experience.
• Previous experience preparing corporation tax computations.
• Practical AlphaTax experience and the ability to become productive quickly.
• Good understanding of UK corporation tax compliance requirements.
• Experience working with a sizeable or complex entity population.
• The ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Confidence dealing with Finance teams and external advisers.
• Strong attention to detail and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
