I am working with a major global financial institution seeking a Tax Manager to support tax governance and risk oversight across its Private Assets business. This role sits within the central tax function and provides independent second-line challenge on complex structuring and governance matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Private Assets Tax Lead in applying the organisation’s tax risk framework and ensuring consistent governance across products and structures.
  • Provide independent review and challenge on high-risk or complex tax matters, including structuring proposals, investor terms and adviser outputs.
  • Identify and escalate issues requiring senior tax input, contributing to tax guidelines, guardrails and governance materials.
  • Maintain visibility over early-stage structuring activity and support assurance over tax-sensitive implementation steps.
  • Monitor relevant tax developments and help build tax awareness across Private Assets teams.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of Private Assets structures and related tax issues.
  • Proven ability to identify material tax risks and exercise sound judgement.
  • Experience providing review and challenge on tax analysis and structuring.
  • Solid grounding in tax governance and risk management principles.
  • Professional tax qualification (CTA, ACA or equivalent) with experience in product tax, ideally within a large corporate, financial institution or advisory environment.
  • Exposure to restructurings, transactions and legislative change assessments.

This is a hybrid role, based in the City of London.
