We are supporting a group looking at expanding their Tax team. They are looking for a Group Tax Manager to join them. We're looking for strong corporate tax compliance and reporting experience; the Head of is happy to teach the advisory/broader tax work. This role would suit someone looking to move in-house for the first time or someone currently in-house.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and review UK corporate tax returns.
- Support VAT, CIS, P11Ds, stamp duty, and other UK/Irish tax filings.
- Assist with personal tax return data collection.
Tax Accounting & Audits
- Support tax accounting for monthly and quarterly management accounts.
- Assist with tax-related parts of statutory audits.
- Manage tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities.
Tax Projects & Risk Management
- Handle group tax claims (e.g. capital allowances, R&D, losses).
- Review intercompany recharges and transfer pricing adjustments.
- Help identify tax risks and put controls and processes in place.
- Keep tax documentation up to date and support external reviews of high-risk items.
Collaboration & Improvement
- Work closely with accountants, the Finance Controller, CFO, and external advisors.
- Help improve systems, processes, and tax software as work moves in-house.
- Keep up to date with tax rules and share knowledge with the wider team.
- Provide ad-hoc support on finance and tax projects as needed.
