We are working with a leading global financial institution looking to appoint a VP level lawyer to join its London legal team, supporting its Prime Services and Derivatives business.
This is a broad, commercially focused role covering prime brokerage, derivatives clearing and securities lending, with particular emphasis on OTC and exchange-traded cleared derivatives. The successful candidate will advise on complex transactional and regulatory matters across the UK and internationally, including commodities clearing for corporate clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and negotiating English law derivatives clearing agreements, collateral arrangements, guarantees and related documentation
- Advising on legal and regulatory matters relating to prime services and derivatives clearing
- Supporting new transactions, regulatory change and market infrastructure projects
- Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, Legal, Compliance, Risk and other functions
- Taking ownership of complex matters and providing guidance and support to more junior lawyers
- Contributing to wider legal projects and the continued development of the legal support provided to the business
We are keen to speak with qualified lawyers with strong experience across prime services and/or derivatives, particularly cleared derivatives. Experience spanning OTC and exchange-traded products would be highly relevant, alongside strong commercial judgement, stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical advice.
This is an excellent opportunity to take on significant responsibility within a sophisticated international markets business, with broad exposure and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders.
