We are partnering with a leading global hedge fund to appoint a Senior Manager within its Tax team.

This is a highly commercial role sitting at the intersection of tax, investing and business strategy, with responsibility for advising on the tax implications of investment transactions, fund structures and new business initiatives across a diverse range of strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction & Investment Advisory
  • Lead the tax analysis of investment transactions across multiple asset classes, including credit, private investments, structured products and digital assets.
  • Advise investment teams on the tax implications of potential investments and disposals across global markets.
  • Assess withholding tax, permanent establishment, non-resident capital gains tax and other cross-border tax considerations arising from investment activity.
  • Develop and recommend efficient investment and holding structures for new transactions.
  • Review and negotiate tax-related provisions within investment and financing documentation, including tax covenants, indemnities, withholding provisions and gross-up clauses.
  • Manage external tax advisers on transaction-specific matters and coordinate the delivery of advice across jurisdictions.
  • Advise on the launch of new funds, investment vehicles and trading strategies.
  • Assess the tax implications of investing across new jurisdictions, products and asset classes.
  • Support the development of innovative investment structures in response to evolving investment strategies and investor demand.
  • Review fund documentation and investor-related materials from a tax perspective.
  • Business Partnering
  • Work closely with portfolio managers, deal teams and senior stakeholders to provide commercially focused tax advice that supports investment decision-making.
  • Translate complex tax issues into clear and practical recommendations for non-tax audiences.
  • Act as a trusted adviser on strategic initiatives, new business opportunities and expansion plans.
  • Build strong relationships across investments, legal, finance, operations and compliance functions.
  • Leadership & Project Management
  • Manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously across transaction advisory, fund structuring and strategic business initiatives.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and external advisers across numerous jurisdictions.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the tax team.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the firm's global tax function.
  • Candidate Profile
  • Experience gained within a leading asset manager, hedge fund, alternative investment manager or Big Four / Top 10 advisory practice.
  • Strong background in investment funds, transaction tax, fund structuring or international tax advisory.
  • Experience advising on cross-border investment transactions and alternative investment strategies.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with direct exposure to investment professionals.
  • Commercially minded with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver pragmatic solutions under tight deadlines.
