The Fund Accounting & Operations Associate supports the accurate operation, financial control, and reporting of investment funds and separately managed accounts (SMAs). The role involves close interaction with external managers, fund administrators, operations teams, and auditors, with responsibility for profit and loss oversight, fee calculations, NAV review, and financial reporting accuracy. The position requires a strong attention to detail, solid technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to reconcile and analyse complex financial data across multiple mandates and fund entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key point of contact for external investment managers and fund administrators, overseeing profit and loss reviews, pricing reconciliations, and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with Operations teams and administrators to investigate and resolve reporting discrepancies efficiently and accurately.
  • Review and agree separately managed account (SMA) management and performance fees across multiple mandates.
  • Produce and maintain internal reporting, ensuring consistency with administrator data and internal expectations.
  • Support net asset value (NAV) oversight across all fund entities.
  • Assist in the review of financial statements and investor reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting and reporting standards.
  • Provide support during audit processes, including direct interaction with external auditors and fund administrators.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline with a strong academic record.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in fund accounting or a related financial services role.
  • Practical exposure to management fee and performance fee calculations.
  • Experience operating in an environment requiring high accuracy, strong controls, and attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Lookup functions).
  • Ability to review, reconcile, and analyse complex financial data across multiple sources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with internal stakeholders and external service providers.

Profiles best suited to this role will have a background working in a fast-paced trading environment, like commodities, prop traders or investment managers.
