The Opportunity
You'll take ownership of Group tax consolidation and external tax reporting, acting as a key technical specialist for the wider business. The role blends hands‐on reporting, process improvement, stakeholder engagement and advisory input on commercial activity. This is an ideal move for someone with deep IFRS tax reporting experience who enjoys both technical rigour and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Group tax consolidation — Prepare Group tax consolidation, reporting templates and disclosures, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Review of OpCo submissions — Assess tax reporting packs for consistency and accuracy.
- Audit liaison — Act as the primary contact for internal and external auditors on tax consolidation and disclosures.
- Systems & automation — Review the tax reporting systems landscape and recommend/implement automation and efficiency improvements.
- Process & controls enhancement — Identify and deliver improvements to tax reporting processes and controls.
- Training delivery — Provide tax reporting training to the wider tax team.
- Technical monitoring — Track developments in tax reporting standards and recommend changes to maintain strong external reporting.
- Competitor insights — Analyse competitor disclosures to provide insight and benchmarking.
- Advisory support — Advise on tax reporting implications of commercial, restructuring and growth transactions.
- Forecasting & ETR — Review Group tax forecasts and provide insight on the effective tax rate.
- CbCR oversight — Oversee preparation and submission of the Group's public Country‐by‐Country Report.
Skills & Experience
- ACA qualified and IFRS tax reporting experience (in‐house or professional services).
- Strong technical expertise in IAS 12 and IAS 34.
- Demonstrable experience preparing or reviewing complex Group tax reporting.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning and judgement skills; comfortable making decisions in complex environments.
- Proactive, adaptable and able to identify and implement process improvements.
