We are partnering with a leading housing association looking to appoint a Director of Finance to join their team in Portsmouth. This is a critical leadership role within a high-performing business undergoing continued growth, transformation and investment.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CFO and forming part of the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, ensuring strong governance and enabling the delivery of a significant long-term capital programme. This is a broad and impactful role, combining strategic influence with operational finance leadership, supporting a complex multi-site business with a substantial asset base.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance function, including reporting, FP&A, controls and operational finance
- Partner closely with the CFO, Executive team and Board to drive strategic decision-making
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning
- Ensure robust financial governance, regulatory compliance and risk management
- Support large-scale capital investment programmes, including development and asset management
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and performance insight
About You
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (FD / Head of Finance level)
- Background in a regulated environment, with the ability to balance commercial delivery with governance and long-term sustainability
- Experience in a regulated environment, social housing would be beneficial.
- Strong track record in business partnering, financial planning and leading high-performing teams
- Professionally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
