Overview

We are supporting a leading Investment Manager as they look to make a an Employment Tax hire. This is a newly created role and, part of your remit will look at bringing some responsibilities in-house for the first time. This role will offer you to exposure to other areas including compensation.

Responsibilities

  • As Employment Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of employment-related tax matters across the firm. You will work closely with HR, Payroll, Legal, and Finance teams, providing strategic and technical guidance on employment tax issues, including PAYE, NIC, expatriate tax, benefits-in-kind, and employment status.
  • Lead the firm\’s employment tax strategy and ensure compliance with UK tax legislation.
  • Advise on PAYE/NIC implications of compensation structures, including bonuses, share schemes, and benefits.
  • Manage relationships with HMRC and external advisors.
  • Support the business on employment tax aspects of international mobility and secondee arrangements.
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the firm.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on employment tax matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on audits, risk assessments, and process improvements.

What we are looking for

  • Ideally, ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent) with significant experience in employment tax, ideally within financial services or a Big 4/Top 10 firm.
  • Strong track record within the employment tax space.
  • You may have in-house experience or, be looking to move in-house for the first time
  • Someone who is happy to be part of a team and, get involved in a little bit of everything (as and when required)
