We are supporting a leading investment manager seeking a Group Tax Manager to join their in-house tax function. This role is ideally suited to a recently ACA/CTA qualified professional (likely 0–2 years PQE) looking to make their first move into industry. Financial services experience not needed. Instead, we are looking for strong corporate tax exposure.
The position offers a strong grounding in corporate tax compliance alongside increasing exposure to advisory and project work, providing an excellent platform for long-term development in-house.
The Role:
Working closely with the Head of Tax and wider finance team, you will take ownership of core corporate tax processes while supporting a broad range of advisory initiatives across the group.
Key responsibilities include:
- Corporate Tax Compliance
- Preparation and review of UK corporate tax returns across the group
- Managing quarterly instalment payments and tax forecasts
- Assisting with tax accounting and reporting under UK GAAP / IFRS
- Liaising with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings
- Supporting HMRC queries, audits, and ongoing correspondence
- Advisory & Project Work
- Supporting on ad hoc tax advisory matters (e.g. structuring, financing, transactions)
- Involvement in group restructuring and business changes
- Assisting with process improvements and bringing activities in-house
- Contributing to tax planning initiatives across the group
- Working alongside finance, legal and deal teams on cross-functional projects
- Wider Responsibilities
- Building relationships across the business as a key tax contact
- Assisting with tax risk management and governance frameworks
- Supporting VAT and other indirect tax matters as required (limited exposure)
