Do you thrive on the technical side of financial planning — the cases where a simple term policy just won't cut it? We're looking for an experienced protection specialist to join our team, working with high and ultra-high net worth clients (typically £10m+ estates) on some of the most technically complex protection and inheritance tax planning cases in the market.
Want to work on high value, complex life insurance cases, rather than volume? It's a consultative, advice led position for someone who enjoys getting into the detail - trust structures, cross-border estates, large sum assured cases, and genuinely complex underwriting.
Responsibilities:
- You'll act as the protection specialist within a HNW advisory team, working alongside solicitors, accountants, and private bankers to design solutions that fit into much bigger financial and tax planning pictures. Think IHT liquidity planning, estate equalisation, trust-based protection, and business protection for owner-managers - often layered with cross-border or non-UK domicile complexity.
- You'll own cases from the first conversation through to placement, working closely with our inhouse underwriting team to negotiate terms with insurers on high-value, technically demanding risks.
Experience required:
- Solid background in advised protection or financial planning, ideally with exposure to £5m+ sums assured.
- Comfortable operating in a professional introducer environment - you've worked alongside solicitors, accountants, or similar advisers before.
- Experience with IHT planning, business owners, or landed estate/farming clients is a strong plus.
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning as a minimum.
- Genuinely curious about technical problem-solving, and confident explaining complex strategies - and sensitive topics like medical underwriting - in a way clients and introducers can actually follow.
Why this role:
If you want to move beyond transactional protection sales and into genuinely strategic, high-value planning work, with real ownership of complex cases and direct access to a network of top-tier professional introducers. This is a rare opportunity to specialise at the top end of the market.
Salary:
Up to £75k Basic (Negotiable for right person) plus fantastic bonus potential. Genuine opportunity to earn £250k per annum for driven individuals.
