We are supporting a leading, specialist, engineering business seeking an experienced Senior NPI Engineer to join their dedicated team. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in leading the introduction of new products from concept through to serial production using structured, gated processes. This role also involves line management of the NPI team, making it an ideal position for someone looking to take the next step in leadership while remaining closely involved in the technical delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from initial quotation through to production handover, in line with internal APQP-based procedures.
- Maintain full control over project deliverables relating to quality, delivery and cost (QDC).
- Lead and support the NPI team, overseeing day-to-day project delivery and team development.
- Deliver technical elements of projects including creation of BOMs, routings, work instructions, and ERP entries.
- Oversee PPAP activity including risk assessments, FMEAs, and process flow documentation.
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure manufacturability, accurate costing, and efficient tooling development.
- Present project updates and gate reviews to senior stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Degree/HND/HNC qualified in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering role, ideally within the aerospace sector.
- Solid understanding of engineering standards, quality systems, and health & safety requirements.
- Effective communicator with strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with MS Project is advantageous.
- Demonstrates commercial awareness alongside technical capability.
Desirable:
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks is advantageous).
