Overview
We are working with a leading medical technology business in their search for a Senior Design Engineer to join their Device Development team. This is a full-time opportunity to be directly involved in the design and development of cutting-edge medical devices that make a real difference to patients worldwide.
As Senior Design Engineer, you will be hands-on in developing innovative device designs, mechanisms, and test equipment to support product development programmes. You will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment, supporting projects from concept through to manufacture.
Applicants must have extensive experience using Creo, including advanced surfacing.
Core responsibilities
- Producing high-quality CAD designs for injection moulded components and mechanisms
- Creating advanced surface models and design concepts using Creo
- Conducting tolerance analysis (TAN) and risk analysis (FMEA) for designs
- Supporting laboratory testing of prototypes and documenting results
- Writing and reviewing design specifications, protocols, and reports
- Collaborating with suppliers, engineers, and project managers to ensure design-for-manufacture
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and relevant industry standards
- Supporting continuous improvement and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
About you
- Mechanical design/engineering background with extensive Creo experience (including surfacing)
- Strong background in injection moulded component design for high-volume manufacture
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and lab-based validation activities
- Skilled in producing documentation to support regulatory compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to develop solutions from first principles
- Previous medical device experience is highly desirable but not essential
