Pure Resourcing Solutions are supporting a well-established, international organisation in the search for a Senior Buyer to join their procurement function. This is a key hire for the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of strategic purchasing activity, influence supplier performance, and play a key role in driving commercial value across the supply chain.

The Opportunity

  • Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you’ll lead on sourcing strategy and supplier engagement across a defined category base.
  • Alongside managing complex negotiations, you’ll help shape procurement processes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and provide guidance to more junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing activity, from supplier identification through to contract negotiation.
  • Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers, ensuring consistency in quality, cost and service levels.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of procurement strategy.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee purchasing activity to ensure continuity of supply and effective stock management.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolving any issues relating to quality or delivery.
  • Analyse market trends and spend data to support informed decision-making.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the procurement team.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align procurement activity with wider business goals.
  • Ensure all procurement processes meet internal policies and regulatory requirements.

About You

  • Established experience within a procurement or senior buying role.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering value through negotiation.
  • Confident managing supplier relationships and influencing outcomes.
  • Experience contributing to or shaping procurement strategy.
  • Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and analysing data.
  • Highly organised with a proactive, solutions-led approach.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) would be beneficial.
