Overview
As Group Management Accountant you will oversee the timely production of monthly management accounts for the group, delivering P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, plus consolidated reporting. You will reconcile intercompany positions, maintain balance sheet control accounts, and provide ad hoc analysis to inform growth decisions. The role involves coordinating with external auditors and managing VAT and other tax returns. You’ll work across the organisation to ensure accurate, insightful financial reporting and strong stakeholder communication.
Responsibilities
- Produce monthly management accounts for the group, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, with consolidated reporting
- Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and related-party positions
- Maintain and develop balance sheet control accounts (journals, prepayments, accruals, stock)
- Deliver ad hoc analysis, reporting, and project-based tasks
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist in year-end processes
- Prepare VAT and other tax returns
- Support consolidation across the business group and provide sound financial insight to drive growth
Key requirements
- 3–5 years of solid accountancy experience
- exposure to the commercial sector
- familiarity with Power BI
- confidence in handling EU VAT and multi-currency transactions
- strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- excellent data management skills
- advanced Excel knowledge
- consolidations experience across the business group
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA part-qualification essential
