Hybrid working - 3 days on site, 2 home-based. As a Team Leader, you will be working closely with senior payroll leadership to ensure the monthly UK payroll lands accurately, smoothly, and on time. Alongside the day-to-day, you will drive improvements, support system changes, and champion a brilliant service experience for colleagues across the business.
The role:
- Oversee end-to-end monthly payroll for a large, multi-site workforce
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
- Resolve complex payroll queries with confidence and clarity
- Keep payroll processes fully aligned with UK legislation
- Produce regular payroll reports and insights for senior leaders
- Drive engagement, performance, and continuous learning
- Run regular 1:1s, team meetings, and training sessions
Skills required:
- Experience managing payroll in a high-volume, multi-site environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, statutory payments, RTI, pensions, GDPR, and gender pay gap
- Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivots) and solid Microsoft capability
- A sharp eye for detail and a logical, solutions-focused approach
- Strong time management and the ability to deliver under pressure
