An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a proven commercial executive to join a market-leading, FTSE 250+ Food/FMCG powerhouse as Commercial Director. Tasked with driving the next phase of organisational transformation and ambitious commercial growth, this pivotal role holds complete end-to-end responsibility across Business Development, Key Account Management, Strategy, Procurement, and Revenue Growth Management. Leading a multi-disciplinary team of ~200, the successful candidate will steer top-line revenue, optimise complex P&L dynamics, and shape long-term market strategy across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & P&L Governance: Formulate and execute a multi-year commercial strategy to capture market share, drive revenue, and protect margins against macro-inflationary pressures.
- Revenue Growth Management (RGM): Own the RGM framework, deploying data-driven insights to optimise price-pack architecture, trade spend, and promotional efficiency.
- Commercial Operations & Innovation: Lead high-performing Key Account Management and Business Development teams, partnering with R&D to commercialise brand innovations across major retail and reseller channels.
- Strategic Procurement & ESG: Oversee end-to-end procurement strategy, optimising complex supply chain economics while embedding sustainable sourcing and scope-3 ESG commitments.
- Operating Model Transformation: Drive digital enablement and modernise the commercial target operating model to build an agile, tech-forward commercial function.
- M&A & Executive Governance: Support commercial due diligence for strategic acquisitions and advise the Executive Committee on key growth initiatives.
- People & Culture: Provide clear, authentic, and high-energy leadership to 5/6 senior direct reports while inspiring a broader team of ~200 commercial professionals.

- Industry Expertise: Proven senior commercial leadership within the Food or FMCG sector. Must have a proven track record of similar size of business.
- FTSE-Grade P&L Scale: Demonstrable track record of leading complex transformations, driving structural margin expansion, and delivering enterprise-scale growth.
- Leadership Style: A decisive, high-energy leader with a clear strategic vision and a relentless "can-do" mindset.
- End-to-End Scope: Broad commercial fluency spanning customer strategy, procurement economics, digital sales tools, and ESG governance.
