An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts & Business Advisory Manager to join a growing professional services team based in Ipswich. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on combining technical expertise with client-facing advisory work, and who is passionate about leading teams, building strong client relationships, and delivering high-quality financial insight.

You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, overseeing the preparation of accounts, guiding junior team members, and providing valuable commercial advice to help businesses grow.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact
  • Leading the preparation and review of year-end accounts and financial statements
  • Delivering insightful financial advice, including cashflow forecasting and performance analysis
  • Building strong, long-term client relationships and identifying opportunities for additional services
  • Managing workflow, deadlines, and team capacity to ensure timely delivery
  • Coaching and developing junior team members
  • Monitoring WIP and billing to support commercial performance
  • Driving improvements in processes, systems, and efficiencies

Core Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in accounts preparation and business advisory
  • Proven experience managing client relationships independently
  • Ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful commercial insights
  • Experience reviewing work and mentoring junior staff
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Technical Expertise

  • Experience preparing and reviewing consolidated accounts
  • Strong understanding of cashflow forecasting and financial projections
  • Knowledge of working capital analysis and key ratios
  • Awareness of VAT treatments, including partial exemption and reverse charge
  • Ability to identify accounting issues and recommend solutions
  • ACA / ACCA / CA qualified, or qualified by experience
