A Newly Created Role in a Growing Manufacturing Business. Our client, a successful and expanding manufacturing company based in Thetford, is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Financial Controller to join their team. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to shape the finance function, drive performance, and support continued growth. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take ownership of day‑to‑day financial operations, lead a small finance team, and deliver accurate, timely financial insight to support strategic decision making. This is an exciting and hands‑on position suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and deliver monthly forecasting updates
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manage daily cashflow and highlight future financial risks
  • Prepare accurate monthly management reports and financial statements
  • Complete monthly reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns
  • Line‑manage and develop a small finance team
  • Present daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs to senior leadership
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and HMRC when required
  • Carry out additional ad‑hoc finance duties as needed

The successful candidate

  • Manufacturing experience
  • Able to work to tight deadlines when needed
  • Proficient in Excel and confident working with financial systems
  • A strong communicator and collaborative team player
  • Professional, confidential, and commercially aware
  • Experienced with SAP (preferred but not essential)
