We are working with a specialist electronics manufacturer to recruit an Electronics Engineer for their site near Cambridge. This is a full-time, permanent role offering the opportunity to work on a wide variety of electronics, embedded systems, and product support activities within a collaborative and innovative environment.
As an Electronic Engineer, you will support both manufacturing and engineering teams by resolving electronic issues, developing test systems, and contributing to continuous improvement. You’ll be involved in PCB design, debugging, software development, and the evolution of automated test equipment (ATE), playing a vital role in ensuring product reliability and performance.
Core responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot and resolve electronic, software, and calibration issues in production
- Write, debug and maintain embedded and host software for products and test systems
- Carry out PCB layout, schematic capture, prototyping, and board-level testing
- Improve calibration and characterisation processes for existing products
- Support the development and introduction of automated test equipment (ATE)
- Liaise with engineering, production, and quality teams to deliver improvements
- Ensure compliance with QMS (ISO9001) and contribute to continuous improvement
About you:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electronics or a related technical discipline
- 2+ years’ experience in electronic product development and support
- Strong PCB CAD, prototyping, test and debug experience
- Knowledge of circuit design and simulation to transistor level
- Familiar with digital and embedded systems design
- Programming experience in C/C++, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar
- Understanding of EMC, DFM, and DFT principles
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and ISO9001 compliance
