An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and people-focused HR Advisor to join a dynamic HR team and play a vital role in supporting seamless HR operations. This is an initial 3 month temporary post with a possibility of a permanent appointment working on a remote or 1 day per week in the office basis in Essex. The HR Advisor will work closely with the Head of People to deliver day-to-day HR support for site-based employees. As the first point of contact for employee enquiries, the postholder will provide professional HR advice, ensuring a high-quality, customer-focused service that champions best practice and fosters a positive, compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Supports the HR Manager and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process. Manages recruitment communications, liaises with external agencies, and maintains job posting platforms including LinkedIn and internal careers pages. Oversees the onboarding process, including right-to-work verification, reference checks, and induction coordination. Conducts regular check-ins with new starters and supports managers through the probationary review period.
- Employee Lifecycle Management: Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee records across all stages of the employee lifecycle. Manages offboarding processes, including system updates and communication with relevant departments. Support with key ER case management advising and guiding managers through the process. Ensures all employee data is handled in line with company policies and data protection regulations.
- Benefits Administration: Maintains records of employee benefits, including processing joiners, leavers, and benefit changes. Assists with cyclical benefits reviews and employee correspondence.
- Engagement & Performance Support: Utilises tools and systems to support employee engagement aligned with company culture and performance goals. Provides HR data and reporting to support informed management decisions.
- General HR Support: Provides guidance to managers on policies, procedures, and attendance management. Responds to employee and third-party queries, including employment verifications and reference requests. Supports wellbeing and health & safety initiatives, and monitors right-to-work alerts. Ensures HR systems and records are accurate and updated in a timely manner.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in HR advisory or coordination roles, CIPD Level 5 qualified, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. A hands-on approach, knowledge of employment legislation, and familiarity with HR systems are essential.
