We are currently recruiting for a Tax Manager to join a well‑established and growing tax team based in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced tax professional to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, delivering high‑quality personal tax advisory and compliance services. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping client relationships, leading engagements, and driving the continued growth of the private client service line. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members and contribute to strategic initiatives within the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely personal tax services
  • Provide expert advice on complex tax planning matters
  • Review and approve personal tax returns, tax packs, and client communications
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Lead, support and develop junior team members, delegating work effectively
  • Monitor work‑in‑progress (WIP) and ensure appropriate billing and recovery
  • Contribute to business development, including proposals and client tenders
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and use of technology

Qualifications

You must have strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax and have proven experience of working within an accountancy practice. You will also have experience of managing client portfolios and delivering complex tax work.
