The Role
You will be responsible for designing, building, and enhancing business reports to support decision-making across the organisation. A number of reports already exist in legacy formats (primarily Access databases), and your focus will be to migrate, rebuild, and improve these into Power BI, as well as develop new reporting solutions where required. You will work closely with an in-house SQL specialist to ensure data is structured and consumed effectively, and may also utilise Python where appropriate for data processing or transformation tasks.
Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather reporting needs
- Work alongside an internal SQL specialist to leverage existing datasets
- Use Python for data manipulation, transformation, or automation where beneficial
- Deliver clear, user-friendly reporting outputs to the business
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer where required
Technology Environment

- SQL databases (existing and evolving)
- Python (for data processing and supplementary tasks)
- Data sources include built-in reporting tools and custom SQL datasets
Requirements
- Proven experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and data structures
- Experience with Python for data analysis, transformation, or automation
- Experience translating business requirements into reporting solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience migrating legacy reporting systems (e.g. Access to Power BI) is desirable
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience working with evolving or partially built data environments
Additional Information
This is a project-focused contract role, ideal for someone who can deliver efficiently and independently. The initial workload is expected to cover the build and migration of reports, with potential for ongoing support or future projects on a case-by-case basis.
