Head of Finance
Mid-Suffolk | £80,000–£90,000 + bens
We are partnering in exclusive partnership with a highly successful, privately owned Suffolk business to appoint a new Head of Finance.
As the most senior finance role within the business, this is a key leadership appointment, working directly with the Managing Director and as part of the Senior Leadership Team. With ambitious growth plans and significant opportunity ahead, the business is entrepreneurial, fast-moving and continuing to invest for the future.
This is much more than a reporting and control role. We are looking for a commercially minded finance leader who can become a genuine business partner – bringing insight and challenge to decision-making, maintaining a strong grip on cash flow and performance, and helping the business understand where opportunities lie and where improvements can be made.
You will lead and develop an established finance team, contribute to Board-level discussions and play an important role in improving systems, processes and the quality of financial information across the business. The wider remit also includes oversight of HR and IT.
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong senior finance experience and the credibility to work closely with an entrepreneurial Managing Director and leadership team. You will combine technical strength with commercial judgement, be analytical and proactive, and know when to get into the detail while having the confidence to delegate, coach and develop the people around you.
Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction or another operationally complex environment would be advantageous, as would exposure to finance systems implementation, commercial contracts and foreign currency.
Importantly, this is an appointment with genuine headroom. For someone who performs and establishes the right credibility within the business, there is a clear opportunity for the role to evolve and progress into a more senior appointment. If this role is of interest, we'd love to hear from you.
