Hatcher Components Ltd, part of the Betts Group, have been manufacturing parts exclusively for the commercial vehicle industry since 1968 and are market leaders in developing truck aerodynamics. They have a proven track record of pioneering product innovation and making high quality products that deliver first class performance. As the business continues to grow, they are now seeking to strengthen the team with the appointment of a Production Quality Engineer. This is a newly created role that combines production efficiency with a strong emphasis on quality assurance, continuous improvement, and compliance with industry standards.

Core duties include:

  • Design, develop, and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and cost performance
  • Monitor production activity and identify opportunities to reduce waste, downtime, and defects
  • Investigate process and quality issues, implementing robust corrective actions
  • Lead root cause analysis using structured tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions to ensure consistency and control
  • Analyse production and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and process validation activities

About you: Experience in a process, production, or manufacturing engineering role with a strong quality focus.
