I am working with a well-established, family-owned healthcare manufacturer in Newmarket. They supply medical and theatre disposables to the NHS and international healthcare providers. With a strong focus on sustainability and community impact, this role offers an opportunity to make a real difference.

As the Senior Buyer reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you’ll:

  • Devise and deliver procurement strategies that balance cost and quality
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers to secure value and reliability
  • Oversee the full procurement lifecycle—from order to delivery
  • Track stock levels and manage budget controls
  • Run supplier audits, performance reviews, and compliance checks
  • Guide and support junior team members
  • Work closely with production, finance, and contracts teams
  • Occasionally visit supplier sites or attend events

Requirements for the role:

  • Extensive procurement experience, including recent experience in a management position
  • Ideally from FMCG, manufacturing or healthcare sectors
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills
  • Confident in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel
  • CIPS qualification or studying towards would be desired
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and communication
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work independently
