Purchase Ledger Controller Permanent Office Based Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger professional looking for a role that offers more than just invoice processing? We are recruiting for an Purchase Ledger Controller to join a busy and growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong purchase ledger experience who is keen to broaden their accounting knowledge and gain valuable exposure to month-end management accounting activities. Working closely with the Finance Controller and Management Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger function while supporting the wider finance team with reconciliations, reporting, accruals, and month-end processes. Key Responsibilities Processing authorised purchase invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently. Managing purchase orders and supporting continuous improvement of PO and GRNI processes. Matching delivery notes to purchase orders and ensuring part numbers are correctly recorded. Managing the purchase ledger inbox and ensuring documentation is authorised and processed promptly. Resolving supplier queries and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Reconciling supplier statements and investigating outstanding items. Managing company credit card reconciliations and postings. Preparing and processing weekly and monthly supplier payment runs. Supporting month-end close processes, including: Purchase accruals Ensuring invoices and purchase orders are accounted for in the correct period Assisting with sales ledger processes when required. Supporting bank postings and reconciliations. Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations. About You Previous Purchase Ledger experience is essential. Experience of supplier statement reconciliations and payment runs. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Good Excel and accounting system knowledge. A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
