I am working with a well-established food manufacturing business that’s on the lookout for a proactive and organised Procurement Assistant Buyer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their experience in procurement or supply chain, especially if you enjoy variety in your day, working with different teams, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Daily duties:

  • Raising and managing purchase orders using SAP (or similar systems)
  • Helping keep production running by making sure raw materials are in stock
  • Maintaining spreadsheets and reports for stock, packaging, and more
  • Keeping an eye on short- and medium-term demand to avoid stock issues
  • Supporting with supplier queries, samples, costings and paperwork
  • Helping onboard new suppliers and checking compliance details
  • Tracking supplier performance and making sure everything is up to date

Requirements for the role:

  • Some experience in procurement, buying or supply chain
  • Good Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office
  • Experience with SAP or other purchasing systems would be helpful
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a good eye for detail
  • Ideally, experience in food manufacturing or FMCG
