We are working on behalf of an established manufacturing and distribution business in Norwich who are seeking an experienced Warehouse Controller. This role is all about taking ownership of warehouse operations and helping shape the ongoing development of internal systems. This position requires someone highly organised, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently with strong attention to detail. The role includes both warehouse control duties and occasional local driving tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up a warehouse system from scratch and will have been involved in the rollout of an ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Operations: Manage the safe, efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. Maintain accurate records and ensure all systems are updated promptly. Uphold health, safety, and security standards across the warehouse.
  • Receiving: Inspect and verify incoming goods against documentation. Carry out quality checks and accept or reject stock as required. Apply labels/barcodes and complete all associated paperwork and digital records.
  • Shipping: Prepare and verify outbound orders before dispatch. Produce required domestic and international shipping documents. Coordinate courier collections and freight movements.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Good numeracy skills and the ability to interpret data accurately.
  • Strong IT capability, including Excel, Outlook, and warehouse/vendor software.
  • Experience with ERP systems is highly advantageous.
  • Strong ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of BarTender labelling software an advantage.

Education/Training: Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a discipline related to facility operation or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Valid forklift license.

Working Environment: You’ll be based in a busy, well‑lit warehouse and production facility spanning over 40,000 sq ft.
