We are currently recruiting for an experienced Homelessness Housing Officer to join a well-established housing association on a short-term temporary contract to support service delivery across the West Local Delivery Team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role focused on tenancy management, allocations and lettings, and anti-social behaviour, supporting customers within Housing First and Foundations funded properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring tenants can sustain their tenancies and access the support they need.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the allocation and letting of empty homes in line with policy and performance standards
  • Deliver tenancy management services, including enforcement where required
  • Lead on anti-social behaviour cases, working with statutory and non-statutory agencies and attending court where necessary
  • Work closely with local authorities and support agencies to support tenancy sustainment
  • Liaise with Income Recovery and Welfare Benefits teams to maximise tenant income and ability to pay rent
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings, holding partners to account where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to performance reporting and service reviews

Essential experience and skills:

  • Strong understanding of housing and homelessness legislation, tenancy agreements, and landlord and tenant responsibilities
  • Experience of tenancy management and customer-facing casework
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and the impact on tenancy sustainment
  • Experience of multi-agency or partnership working
  • Excellent communication skills with the resilience to manage challenging situations
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across Norfolk

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the housing sector in a Housing Officer or similar role
  • Understanding of Housing First principles
  • CIH qualification or working towards one

This is a temporary full-time position, for around six weeks and an immediate start is required. There is flexibility for hybrid and out of hours working.
