I am recruiting on behalf of my client for a Neighbourhood Officer to provide temporary cover until the end of April. This is an important role within the housing team, supporting tenants and delivering a high standard of tenancy and estate management.

The role involves managing allocations and lettings, supporting tenants with a range of housing-related issues, and responding to reports of anti-social behaviour in line with policy. You will work with residents, partner agencies and internal teams to ensure safe, sustainable neighbourhoods and positive customer experiences. Regular travel is required to carry out visits, inspections and meetings, so a driving licence and your own vehicle are essential. Mileage expenses will be paid.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing tenancies, allocations and mutual exchanges
  • Handling anti-social behaviour cases
  • Working collaboratively with external agencies and internal teams
  • Carrying out home visits, inspections and case management
  • Providing tenants with basic welfare guidance and signposting
  • Ensuring accurate records are maintained in line with policy and legislation

This role would suit someone with experience in housing, neighbourhood management, community roles, or a similar customer-focused position. You will need to be confident communicating with tenants and partner organisations, able to manage your own caseload, and comfortable working independently.
